The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reported that the three-story, 30-foot Washington Monument, located at Washington Boonsboro, has remained closed to visitors since a bolt of lightning hit the top of the stone structure. The June 18 strike caused three people inside to be blown out of the doorway.

We just had a 'hamfeast' on Friday and everyone sounds excited. We hope to go with 3A, which will be a new first for the group, since so many of our GOTA operators are now "regulars." Hopefully, that will also lead to an all-time high score since the 3rd station can work digital modes, cw, and ssb - whatever seems to produce the best results. Also, Al, KN3U, plans to bring a tower to replace the "ladder tower" used previously. C U Soon. 73's, Frank

We will probably need a tent to take a nap, since we will be jet lagged from visiting Western Canada just prior. Joe likes hamburgers. Me, too. His first choice of drink is skim milk.

That's only 41 Qso's per hour or 1 every minute and a half - should be easy. If we're not making that, we're on the wrong band or mode. Great Wx expected, hoping for great on-air condx.
