Central Committee Minutes

Minutes of the Central Committee of the Libertarian Party of Maryland -- Sunday, 21 July 2002

Opening: The Libertarian State Central Committee of Maryland met at Felecita Ristorante in Rockville, Maryland. The meeting was called due to a vacancy in nominations for public office. Lieutenant Governor nominee Lauren Hill has withdrawn and a replacement needs to be nominated. The meeting was called to order at 6:15 pm by Shannon McMenamin.

Attendance: the Credentials Committee consisted of: Chip Spangler, substituting for the Secretary; Glenn Howard; and Steve Boone. It validated that 17 Central Committee members were in attendance for the meeting, plus 7 proxies. The Central Committee rolls consist of 67 members. Nomination: Earle Pearce nominated Lorenzo Gaztañaga for Lieutenant Governor; Steve Boone seconded the nomination. There were no other nominations. A voice vote was taken, and Lorenzo Gaztañaga was unanimously approved as our Lieutenant Governor candidate.

Announcements: Keith Halderman requested volunteers for the Montgomery County fair. Glenn Howard requested help for the Somerset County fair.

Adjournment: the Central Committee meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm.
